Long-time supporters of our organisation will know that we have a flourishing office in Spain as well, naturally, since Mumbai Smiles was started by a Spanish journalist and writer, Jaume Sanllorente. We recently also opened an office in Mexico, and plan to open chapters in other countries of the world as well.
However, the difference between us and other multi-national NGOs is that, although we have international offices, our development work is focused only in Mumbai. We run our education and health projects ONLY in Mumbai, while the chapters in Spain and Mexico -- and more in the future ;) -- act as satellites that feed our work here, through funds, alliances, voluntary work and other services.
Which makes us unique in that we have teams all over the world all working together for one cause and one people.
And in this symbiotic relationship, none of us would be able to exist without the other :)
