This is Tejaswita Pawar. Her family includes her parennts and two brothers. She's passed Class 9, but is struggling for funds to continue her studies.
Chandana Naik lives with her father, step-brothers and grandparents, but doesn't have a mother. She's finished Class 8 and is fervent about continuing her studies.
Jyoti Khare shares her home with a large extended family of eight, which includes her mother and sister. She doesn't have a father. Resources are few, so she has studied only up to Class 7.
Priyanka Gardi lives with six other family members -- parents, grandparents, a brother and a step-sister. Although she studied till Class 10, she failed the final exam, but is keen to try again.
And this is Sahil Dilani. He couldn't attend the meeting with the others as his mother is seriously ill with tuberculosis. So the Future Smiles team met him near his home. Sahil also has a grandmother (seen here), a brother; his aunt and cousins live nearby. Sahil has also finished Class 10.
So, these are the kids who have been incorporated in the Future Smiles programme. They are all bright and enthusiastic, but have struggled to do well because of tough times. We hope that our collaboration will help them attain the futures they deserve.
