After yesterday’s news about our volunteers in Spain, we have an update from our office in Mexico. Last week, Mumbai Smiles Mexico held its first meeting with volunteers in Leon in Mexico City. The aim was to bring together people interested in volunteering with our organisation in Mexico.
The meeting began with an introduction of the participants, followed by a brief explanation of the history of the organisation and then a detailed discussion about Mumbai Smiles in Mexico.
At this first meeting were present Andres Orozco (President of the organisation in Mexico), Cristiane Tolotti (Executive Director, Mexico), Maru Pineda (volunteer for Institutional Relations), Monica Hibert, Tere Jimenez, Kari Gonzalez, Regina Trujillo, Dani Brenda Munoz and Rodriguez (all volunteers).
Among the various issues discussed was the need to have clear objectives and plans were made to have talks with other NGOs in Mexico to explore the possibility of organising volunteer groups to support them in their projects.
It’s heartening to see the kind of commitment and enthusiasm that Mumbai Smiles inspires halfway across the world and we hope it never fades :)
